ATHLETIC WEEKLY ROUNDUP

BASEBALL
  • On Monday of last week, the Mullen baseball team hit the road and took on Pueblo West High School at their place and got a much needed win, 3-2, to cap off their regular season.  On Wednesday, the seedings were set and Regional placements made for the eight region 4A Playoffs.  Mullen was placed as a 9-seed and on Friday headed to the No. 8 Regional hosted by 8-seed Thompson Valley.  In their first game of the Regional, Mullen played Mead High School, the #23-seed.  Mullen made easy work of the Mavericks, 7-1.  An hour after that game, the Mustangs took on top seeded Thompson Valley, and in a classic back-and-forth battle fell to the Eagles 10-9.
